We are the Rahman's, owners of Desert Jam Company. 

As busy, on-the-go people, we often talked about starting a side hustle. For years, it remained just an idea because we could never decide on the right niche.

Meanwhile, Tarik's mom, Alya, was living in Minnesota, running a successful side business making homemade jam and pepper jelly. For as long as we've been together, I've watched Alya encourage her kids to learn her recipes and carry them on for generations to come.

Then, in the fall of 2022, it hit us—our side hustle had been right in front of us all along. That’s when we started brainstorming how to bring our idea to life.

Fast forward to today—what began as a simple hobby has flourished into Desert Jam Company, a labor of love we’ve nurtured over the past two years. From our home kitchen, we craft small-batch jams and pepper jellies using cherished family recipes, all while balancing full-time careers and the beautiful chaos of raising two little ones.

We believe in the simple goodness of real food. That's why everything we create is all-natural, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan, ensuring everyone can enjoy the delicious flavors of our handcrafted goods. From the sweet burst of our jams to the savory kick of our pepper jellies, each jar is made with the finest ingredients.

One of our favorite parts of this journey is spending time together at local markets, connecting with our community, and seeing the joy on your faces as you discover the unique flavors we’ve created. Knowing that our products bring happiness and are something you can feel good about sharing with your own families makes all the late nights worthwhile.
