About our family

We are the Rahman's, owners of Desert Jam Company.
Outside of my career as a Neurological Physical Therapist and Tarik’s role as a Director of Paid Advertising, we’ve always been drawn to building something of our own. As two naturally entrepreneurial-minded people, we were constantly tossing around ideas, trying to find one that truly felt like us. Little did we know, it had been right in front of us all along.
Growing up in Minnesota, Tarik watched his mom make homemade jam and pepper jelly for as long as he can remember. She has always encouraged her kids to learn her recipes so they could be carried on for generations. In the fall of 2022, with our 18-month-old daughter alongside us, we decided to do just that—learn the recipes, obtain the necessary licensing, and jump into our first farmers market.
What started as a simple hobby in our kitchen has grown into Desert Jam Company, a small family business we’ve been nurturing for the past three and a half years. We craft small-batch jams and pepper jellies using cherished family recipes, all while balancing full-time careers and the chaos of raising two little ones.
We’ve always believed in the simple goodness of real food. That’s why everything we make is all-natural, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan—so it can be enjoyed by people with a wide range of dietary needs. Every jar of our unique jam and pepper jelly flavors is made with the finest ingredients.
It’s incredibly special to see something that started so simply turn into something people genuinely love. You can now find our products in eight stores across the valley, and we ship throughout Arizona.
